PARTING SHOT — Winter 2005

World-Record Welcome

During Freshman Orientation, 926 members of the incoming class gathered in the Athletic Complex to attempt to break the world record for the most people to play Simon Says. Along with the game’s caller, Chancellor Mark S. Wrighton, the gathering of students on August 29 was the largest number of people to play the game, shattering the old record of 598 set by schoolchildren in China. At press time, the University was awaiting “official” verification from Guinness World Records.
